Designed in collaboration with Workstead, this reimagined space is timeless yet minimal with many warm touches from local artisans. Enter into the sleek lobby flanked by two wood burning stoves, an inviting library, and a gorgeous yellow kitchen area where local coffee and tea is served each morning. After checking into your chic guest room complete with local bath products from 2Note Hudson (our favorite), enjoy a glass of wine on the screened in porch before heading downstairs for a delicious dinner in the tavern. Set in the historic city of Kingston, New York, between the foothills of the Catskill Mountains and the Hudson Valley, Hotel Kinsley is the perfect retreat for design-loving travelers looking for luxurious accommodations and adventure. Featuring a collection of four architecturally distinct 17th to 19th century buildings in Kington’s historic Stockade District, Hotel Kinsley boasts 42 guest rooms and a delicious restaurant and bar. The second of the four buildings, 41 Pearl St, is opening December 2020, with the remaining buildings opening by Summer 2021. Just steps away from an ever expanding selection of independent shops and restaurants not to mention some of the oldest architecture in New York state (Kingston was its first capital in 1777), Hotel Kinsley is the perfect jumping off point to explore Kingston and the surrounding region. Wake up in your luxurious room in the Hotel’s flagship building at 301 Wall Street, grab a coffee and a book at nearby Rough Draft, and set out for a day of exploration. Make sure to venture to the Roundout Waterfront District for some of our favorite shops and a walk by the river. After a day of getting to know the city, head back to Hotel Kinsely to dine in their stunning restaurant (reserve a table by the fireplace if you can) to enjoy a seasonal meal and one of the best martinis in the region.
Park your car right out front and walk into the Starlite, a 1960’s motor lodge that has been newly renovated as a stylish roadside motel for the upstate modern traveler. Surrounded by a grove of white pine trees in the hamlet of Kerhonkson, New York, the Starlite features pet-friendly King and Queen rooms complete with hardwood floors, retro tiled baths, custom formulated Starlite bath amenities, mini-bars and high-speed Wi-Fi. Commune with fellow travelers around the outdoor fire pit, and indulge in s'mores roasting with Starlite chocolate. On weekends, grab complimentary local baked goods before hitting the road to explore the natural beauty of Minnewaska State Park and Sam’s Point Preserve, just a short drive away. If you’d rather just kick back and relax, go ahead and stay swaddled in a hammock or relaxing by the saltwater pool in the warmer months. We won’t judge.
