The Vanderlyn
The Vanderlyn
Ninety miles from NYC in the heart of the vibrant village of New Paltz sits The Vanderlyn, a stunning 200-year-old home that beautifully combines its historical details with modern touches and amenities. This two-story property is packed with charm and comfort, the ideal place to call home while you revel in the history, scenic nature, and culture of this local-minded community. Wooden floors and white walls run throughout The Vanderlyn, which features four Queen bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, an inviting living room to enjoy a crackling fire, a large backyard with a fire pit, and a porch built for sunset cocktails in the crisp mountainous air. A fully-equipped kitchen comes with a traditional AGA oven that will make your recipes sing, but if not the cooking type, there is always RŪNA, the owner’s restaurant just a stone’s throw away. The walkable location can’t be beat; easily access historic Huguenot Street and Water Street Market, or spend the day browsing the trove of galleries, eateries, and family-owned shops, many of them tucked away onto quaint side streets. The Vanderlyn’s on-site parking makes it easy to come and go as you please — don’t hesitate to drive off to explore the equally wonderful villages of Rosendale, Highfalls, and Stone Ridge where many of the popular outdoor pursuits can be found, like hiking, biking or swimming at Mohonk or Minnewaska, tasting wine along the Shawanagunk Wine Trail, or picking your own fruits and vegetables at one of the many farms or orchards.
