There’s something so special about enjoying the comforts of home in an unfamiliar place. Staying in someone’s space helps you to immerse yourself in the local spirit. This is especially important in the Hudson Valley, where we feel a more authentic experience comes from connecting with the local community and lifestyle. This is how onefinestay approaches vacations. Their curated homes pair handmade hospitality — offering luxurious linens, towels, toiletries and a welcome gift — with the warmth and human touch of staying in a home.
Together, with onefinestay, we’re featuring three distinct places that will make your Hudson Valley vacation truly unique. Don’t forget to read on for our recommendations on where to eat, shop and explore during your visit.
A Contemporary Hideaway in Kerhonkson
- We really love this contemporary home in the Hudson Valley. From the bright pink cerise couch to the cream colored fireplace, this space is perfect for relaxing in style. If you stay in Mettacahonts Creek, be sure to visit one of the nearby farmer’s markets and put the gorgeous kitchen to use, complete with butcher block countertops.

A Vintage-Inspired Home in Woodstock
- This home, only ten-minutes from downtown Woodstock, is our Hudson Valley dream. The floorboards are an unmistakable Hudson blue, the walls are awash in bright white, and the central sitting room has pitched ceilings, a natural stone fireplace, and a wall of windows that frame the Catskill wilds. On a summer’s evening, gather with friends and family for a dip in the pool or hot tub followed by dinner on the back porch. Then lay back in the hammock and relax with a book borrowed from the home’s vast collection.

A Whimsical Escape at Woodstock’s Orchard Lane House
- If you want the perfect place to enjoy the company of dear friends and family, we recommend this home near Tinker Street in downtown Woodstock. It has a farmhouse feel with its open floor plan, brick flooring and dark exposed beams. The living room’s wraparound windows look out into the wooded backyard where you can grill up a hearty barbecue lunch or enjoy a refreshing swim in the outdoor pool.

If you’re looking for a special meal out, we recommend heading to Cucina, a contemporary italian restaurant in a restored rambling farmhouse setting. The menu is seasonally inspired with highlights such as: roasted chicken with spring vegetables and rosemary jus or handmade ravioli with spinach, ricotta, brown butter and sesame seeds.

Westwind Orchard is a place to connect with the agricultural scene Upstate. It has one of our favorite farm stores that sells local honey, homemade jam and seasonal produce. In season, you can pick organic apples and berries or gather with interesting creatives to share wood fired pizzas fresh from the outdoor oven.
