One Year Launched: Celebrating the And North Community
A year ago today, we sat anxiously by our computers as we published our first post on And North. We had spent the months leading up to the launch visiting homes, studios, shops, and restaurants throughout upstate NY and were continually taken aback by the welcoming spirit shown to us each time. From a woodworking studio in Kingston, to a work-in-progress farmhouse in Woodstock, to a new restaurant in the Catskills, these early posts highlighted a very small percentage of the immense talent and vision found upstate. Today, as we celebrate one year live and launched, we wanted our 62nd feature to highlight the amazing community that has acted as a great source of inspiration and support.
We have been so fortunate to gather with many of you over this past year – in the stone courtyard at our launch party; the snowy landscape at our greenhouse dinner; the rolling fields of Spruceton Inn at our farewell to summer party. Joining together in these unique settings allowed us to celebrate this part of the world and form meaningful connections with all of you. Our Instagram hashtag #andnorth gave us an intimate look at your explorations and inspired many of our features. We felt like your travel companions as you posted images of drives down misty roads, hikes up treacherous mountains, and meals around candlelit tables. Below are some of our favorites shared on #andnorth this year, taken by a very talented group of folks. Thank you to everyone who has contributed images, shared ideas, sent thoughtful notes and – most importantly – inspired us to get out and explore!
